Gunners broke FA regulations when signing Calum Chambers

Arsenal Football Club have been fined £60,000 for breaking FA regulations during the transfer of Calum Chambers from Southampton.

The Gunners brought in the young defender two years ago for around £16million, but it has just been revealed that they have been fined for their transfer actions.

It has emerged that the North London club broke FA‘s Agent Regulations when signing Chambers from the Saints.

An FA statement has just been released and below you can see it in full:

“Authorised agent Alan Middleton has also been warned as to his future conduct and sanctioned for breaching The FA’s Football Agent Regulations in relation to the same matter,” an FA statement read.

“Mr Middleton has been fined £30,000 and suspended from all agency/intermediary activity for a period of three months.

“This suspension shall be suspended in its entirety for 18 months from 23 October 2015 and will not take effect unless he commits an offence contrary to the agents regulations or The FA’s regulations on working with intermediaries during this time.

“Arsenal admitted part of the breach but denied another, which was found not proven following an Independent Regulatory Commission. The charges against Mr Middleton, which he denied, were found proven.”
