Arsenal striker set for months on sideline
Arsenal Football Club have announced that Danny Welbeck has undergone knee surgery and is likely to be out for months.
The club didn’t reveal how long exactly they expect the striker to be out for, but it comes as a massive blow, especially after Arsene Wenger failed to bring in a striker during the transfer window.
Welbeck initially suffered an injury back in April, but the club had hoped he’d be back in time for pre-season, however, with continuous problems and issues, they finally decided to go with surgery.
Failed Recovery
The club have revealed that after stepping up his rehabilitation, his knee hadn’t recovered in the way they wanted it to, and left surgery as the only real option to prevent further injury in the long-run.
Arsenal ended their announcement on the official website by saying: “Danny is now expected to be out for a period of months and everyone at Arsenal wishes him well.”
