Croat suffered knee injury on Sunday

Liverpool centre-back Dejan Lovren is likely to miss the Christmas period of the Premier League after the Croatian FA released a statement regarding his recent knee injury.

The defender was stretchered off during the 2-2 draw with West Bromwich Albion on Sunday, and it was initially feared that it could be a nasty long-term injury for the Croat.

However, in a statement that was released earlier, it’s been revealed the Lovren is likely to miss around three weeks, meaning he should be back early January.

Three Weeks

The injury does mean he will miss the busy Christmas schedule, but it’s good news for Jurgen Klopp that it isn’t a lengthy injury like first feared.

Lovren returned to Croatia after sustaining the injury and a doctor out there worked on his knee and has now ruled him out of action for two-to-three weeks.
