The striker could be set for a shock return to his former club
Radamel Falcao could be set to complete a move back to Atletico Madrid today, according to the Telegraph.
The striker has had a torrid time in England for both Chelsea and Man United and with the signing of Alexandre Pato by the Blues, it pushes him further down the pecking order at the club.
However, he could now be freed from his Premier League hell, with former club Atletico hoping to bring him back to Spain. Reports from Spain are claiming that he has spent the day in a hotel in Madrid while his agent Jorge Mendes attempts to wrap a deal up.
Letting him spend the day in Madrid shows that the Blues believe he is surplus to requirements, while Monaco are also believed to be willing to let him leave the club.
The deal could be quite complicated, as he would have to go through parent club Monaco to sign, but they are still confident that a deal could be done.
However, if a deal wasn’t pulled off, there is still keen interest from China, where the transfer window is open for a further four weeks.
