Bayern Munich have succeeded in their pursuit of Manchester City winger, Leroy Sane.
Sky Sports reports that a £54.8 million transfer put in place with the German winger about to sign a five-year contract.
Sane was in the final year of his deal with the Cityzens after declining to sign the extension offered to him. Bayern will initially pay £44.7 million and the remaining £10 million is to come through add-ons. City will also be due to receive 10% of any profit made on the player.
Pep Guardiola was unable to convince Sane into staying, who has missed the entire 2019/20 season through injury. The 24-year-old was being lined up to be Arjen Robben’s replacement at the Allianz Arena for over a year now. Finally, Bayern have been able to get their hands on him. Sane already has Bundesliga experience with FC Schalke, having developed his game there before moving to the Etihad.
The German international has 39 goals and 45 assists in 135 games for City. He got knocked down by a knee injury in the Community Shield fixture against Liverpool back in August 2019. He has fully recovered and will be joining Hansi Flick’s squad for the upcoming campaign.
