Referee Mark Clattenburg will not face any action from the FA over allegations that he made racist comments towards Chelsea midfielder Jon Obi Mikel.
Despite filing a complaint against the referee after their defeat to Manchester United, it is in fact the midfielder (Mikel) who will be punished by the FA for misconduct because of his behaviour in the match.
Jon Obi Mikel has been charged because he stormed into the referee’s dressing room right after the game at Stamford Bridge, but it is yet to be made clear what the charge will be.
As for Clattenburg, he is now cleared to return to officiating and it will be his first match since the controversial game at the Bridge back in October.
