Striker suffers ligament injury

Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney will be out of action for around two months after suffering knee ligament damage.

The striker, who has just found some goal-scoring form in recent weeks, hasn’t travelled with the rest of the squad to Denmark for their Europa League game on Thursday, but it has now been revealed as to why.

It’s not yet clear how the injury happened, but it will now keep Rooney out until late March/early April.

Massive Blow

The news will come as a massive blow to Louis van Gaal, who has several things to be worried about regarding United, and it will now dent the club’s chances of finishing in the top-four.

Rooney will now be in a race for full fitness ahead of the summer’s Euros.
