Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has revealed what he learnt from his time working with Chelsea boss, Jose Mourinho.

The two worked together at Stamford Bridge during Mourinho’s first reign at the club, but since then, Rodgers has gone on to become the main man at club’s, starting with Swansea City, before moving to Anfield.

Despite remaining close friends, the duo clashed during last season’s encounter, but The Reds boss has admitted that it was great working alongside the Portuguese man.

“It was a wonderful experience, I learned.

“Jose was a great planner and a good man to me as a young coach.

“He gave me responsibility, and the pressure of working with the big players when I was just 30 years of age.

“I will always be grateful to him for giving me the opportunity to coach the reserve team and be near him, and the first team.

“He’s a friend of mine and its slightly different now because we are both so engrossed in our roles and our jobs that we don’t get the chance to speak so much now.”
