Everton striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin has said that the Toffees will take positives from their defeat against Manchester City in their last match in the Premier League. The Merseyside club were beaten in their own backyard by the reigning champions by 2-0, which sees them stuck on the ninth position in the Premier League table.

Speaking to the club’s official website after the match, the young English forward said, “Despite the result, we have to be proud of ourselves. Everyone, to a man, put in a good shift.”

He added, “We dug in and gave it our all. We played to our strengths, we put the ball in behind when we needed to. Also, there was me, Tom [Davies] and Jonjoe [Kenny] in the team. All young lads who love playing together.”

Calvert-Lewin concluded, “We’ll take confidence from the performance and take that into Saturday. We will give our all again to win that game. We have to just focus on making sure we finish as high as we can.
