Carlos Tevez’s father has been kidnapped, according to reports in Argentina.
The Guardian Newspaper have reported that the particular incident happened on Tuesday morning, with an apparent car jacking taking place in a suburb on the outskirts of the Argentine capital, Buenos Aires.
Tevez’s father is also being held at ransom, which has been swiftly lowered since this morning’s incident.
Juventus striker Tevez, who signed for the Italian Serie A Champions from Manchester City in the summer of 2013, is said to have travelled from Turin to aid the negotiations.
