Newcastle United manager John Carver has dealt a blow to Premier League rivals Arsenal and Liverpool by claiming it will take a ‘ridiculous offer’ for him to let midfielder Moussa Sissoko leave the club.
The former Toulouse star recently revealed that he is open to a move away from St James’ Park.
But Carver has ruled out any imminent departure.
He revealed, ahed of the Toon’s Premier League clash with Hull City: “If you see the way he plays and trains, I’m telling you now – he’s going nowhere.
“Unless somebody comes in with a ridiculous amount of money, he’s going nowhere.
“He’s focused and he’s got his mind on the job. He’s been first class.”
The midfielder, 25, moved to the north-east in 2013, and has scored eight times in sixty-seven appearances.
Carver was this week handed the management role until the end of this season.
