Cavani demands Premier League move

Man United and Chelsea have been handed a huge boost in their chase for Edinson Cavani after the player told his agent to find him a Premier League club to join. According to the Daily Star, the player is unhappy that he has to play second-fiddle to Zlatan Ibrahimovic at PSG.

The striker only joined the Ligue 1 side from Napoli last summer for ÂŁ40m, but he already wants out after his first season. The Uruguayan spent large parts of last season on the left wing, which isn’t his preferred position. The 27-year old is now looking to leave Paris.

Cavani’s agent had this to say last week, when asked about the player’s future: “In football you never know. Anything can happen.

“One day you’re in one team and the next day you can be in another.”

He has been linked strongly with both Man United and Chelsea, since the transfer window re-opened. New Red Devils boss Louis Van Gaal is keen on bringing him to Old Trafford, as they look to once again secure European football.

Jose Mourinho has also been linked, as he looks to bolster the Blues strikeforce, which he criticised last season. Diego Costa has already been secured, but Ba and Torres and possibly Lukaku on the way out, there is space for another forward at Stamford Bridge. Liverpool may also enter the race now too, with star striker Luis Suarez joining Barcelona.
