Cesar welcomes transfer talk.

Queens Park Rangers goalkeeper Julio Cesar has welcomed transfer speculation linking him away from current club Queens Park Rangers, amid reports he is on the verge of a move to Serie A.

The keeper signed for the West London club in August 2012, and despite being part of the Queens Park Rangers side who suffered relegation, was a stand out performer in a very poor side.

However, Cesar has featured just once for Redknapp’s side in the current campaign, in a 4-0 FA Cup defeat away at Everton, with Robert Green overtaking the Brazilian as the first choice shot stopper.

Cesar almost signed for Serie A side Napoli in the summer, but Rafael Benitez opted for Pepe Reina ahead of Cesar, as the former Inter Milan keeper looked for a way out.

But recent interest from Serie A may tempt Cesar to leave the Championship title chasers, with Sardianian side Cagliari interested in securing the services of the 34 year old.

Cagliari’s president Massimo Cellino has admitted his interest, which it seems the player would welcome.

The keeper also admired Sardinia’s climate, stating…..

” It’s nice in Sardinia, always Sunny ”

“I’d like it but honestly at the moment no offer has arrived. Right now I don’t know what I’ll do for the second half of the season but I’m just focussing on training.”

QPR would surely listen to an offer for Cesar, who is currently their third-choice ‘keeper, and the call from Cagliari could come shortly.

The keeper needs first team football in order to guarantee a World Cup spot for Brazil.

He was linked with a move to Arsenal in the summer of 2012, before he joined QPR, the keeper is rumoured to be on wages of up to ÂŁ80,000 a week at Loftus Road.
