The duo have decided to end their agreement six years early

Chelsea will no longer have Adidas as their kit producers after the 2016/17 season.

Adidas have been in partnership with the Blues since 2006 but after ten years together, the pair have mutually decided to end their current deal six years early.

The club’s official website issued the following statement about it:

“Chelsea Football Club can confirm we have mutually agreed with adidas to end our longstanding partnership at the end of the 2016/17 season.

“Having begun our relationship in 2006, we would like to thank adidas for their fantastic support and cooperation over the past 10 years.”

It means that Chelsea’s 2016/17 kits will be the last ones that are created in conjunction with Adidas.

However, it is believed that the club has already lined up a new kit partnership with another company and they will buyout the remaining six years of the current contract between Chelsea and Adidas.
