Premier League duo Arsenal and Chelsea are set to be shocked by the news that Bayern Munich striker Mario Mandzukic is set to turn them down and re-join his former-club Wolfsburg.
The Croatian striker, who has scored two already at this year’s World Cup, has been monitored by the London clubs for a long time now, but he looks set to reject their approaches in order to stay in Germany and in the Bundesliga.
The 28-year-old announced at the end of last season that he would be leaving Munich after falling out of favour under Pep Guardiola, and the German press have revealed that a move back to his former club is close.
Die Welt, a German outlet, has been quoted saying: “Bayern star Mandzukic will probably start the new season again for Lower Saxony [Wolfsburg]. It’s all about details.”
