The Old Lady to launch formal ÂŁ18million bid

Premier League champions Chelsea and Serie A champions Juventus are currently in transfer negotiations regarding the future of play-maker Oscar.

The Brazilian has been heavy linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge this Summer after Jose Mourinho has reportedly grown frustrated of his second-half slumps.

Mourinho’s Worry over Oscar

Oscar tends to have brilliant first-half of the seasons, but then tails off during the latter stages, which has started to annoy Mourinho as he eyes players who work hard for the team all throughout the campaign.

When Mourinho first arrived back in West London, he sold Juan Mata because he didn’t track back enough for the team, despite the Spaniard winning Chelsea‘s Player of the Season two years in a row.

Oscar is the next attacking player who could be a Mourinho victim and according to reports, the two league champions are in discussions over a potential deal worth around ÂŁ18m.

The 23-year-old, who is currently sidelined with an injury, arrived at Chelsea back in 2012 after The Blues coughed up ÂŁ25m, but during the final stages of last season, Mourinho dropped the midfielder after several below-par performances.

Although Mourinho is keen on the deal, as are Juventus, Oscar himself seems reluctant to leave the club and admitted in a recent interview that he wants to stay in England with the champions.

Oscar Wants Chelsea Stay

“I’m very happy here,” he said. “I get along with everyone, and the club shows its praise towards me.

“Chelsea is one of the best clubs in the world, so I don’t see why I would think of leaving.

“There are different tactics depending on the opponents we face, and we respect the manager’s choices.

“Sometimes I’ve ended up not playing the entire match, but I’m doing my best to fulfil my role. I’m happy with my performances.”

Talks between the two clubs are likely to continue for the next few weeks and maybe over the entire Summer.
