Chelsea and Liverpool eyeing up Micah Richards

Liverpool and Chelsea are weighing up a bid for Manchester City’s Micah Richards, currently on loan at Serie A side Fiorentina.

Richards, whose contract expires at the end of this season, is keen to leave City, although manager Manuel Pellegrini would like him to stay.

Liverpool chief Brendan Rodgers is looking at potential replacements for Glen Johnson, who is expected to leave Anfield in the summer.

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho is keen to add at least one more English player to his squad.

Inter Milan are also said to be in the running for Richards, having already made one swoop on the Premier League for Arsenal’s Lukas Podolski.

If Fiorentina wish to make the move permament, the fee is expected to be around £4.5m.

Richards has 13 caps for England, and was a part of Team GB at London 2012.
