Arsenal Football Club have fined goalkeeper, Wojciech Szczesny, £20,000 for smoking in the showers after defeat to Southampton.

The Polish international was at fault for both of the goals on New Years Day, and straight after the match, Szczesny was caught smoking in the showers, which caused Arsene Wenger to slap a massive fine on his head.

Rumours were flying around last night about Szczesny, with some people claiming he was set to miss the rest of the season as a punishment, but the club have rubbished those claims and have instead, fined their number-one.

David Ospina came in for Szczesny against Hull City in the FA Cup, and is expected to keep his spot inbetween the sticks for Sunday’s Premier League clash against Stoke City.

Arsenal have refused to make an official statement surrounding Szczesny.
