Chelsea and Man United scrap it out for Imbula

Chelsea are set to battle Man United for the signature of Giannelli Imbula. The Marseille man has been linked with a huge £25m move to Stamford Bridge in recent weeks.

The Blues have upped their interest in the 22-year old after seeing their other target, Paul Pogba, sign a new deal at Juventus. Jose Mourinho is also confident that he can snatch Sami Khedira from the clutches of Arsenal in January, by offering him a pre-contract agreement.

Imbula is viewed as a long-term target by Chelsea and they are willing to more than quadruple what Marseille paid for him back in 2013. But as he continues to impress in France, he is now catching the eye of other top European teams.

One of the teams is a club that Chelsea know very well – Man United. Reports are claiming that the Red Devils sent scouts to watch the midfielder play against Rennes last night, and they too are now believed to have a big interest in the youngster.

Now, the two clubs will go head to head in the winter transfer market to try and claim the signing of the DR Congo man.
