Chelsea have joined Manchester City in the chase to sign Napoli left-back Faouzi Ghoulam in the summer transfer window.
Antonio Conte’s side are not short of left-back’s at the minute, with Marcos Alonso having a remarkable campaign since joining from Serie A outfit Fiorentina in the summer.
However, the Blues continue to be heavily linked with new wing-back options, with highly-rated Ghoulam being the latest to impress the Italian chief.
City want to bring in a younger and more promising alternative to Gael Clichy and Aleksandar Kolarov after a mediocre campaign thus far.
According to Transermarketweb, Chelsea join a list of top European clubs who are closely monitoring the Algeria international.
Footballing giants Paris Saint-Germain, Bayern Munich and Atletico Madrid are also linked with the quick 25-year-old, who has yet to sign a new deal in Naples.
Ghoulam’s current contract is due to expire at the end of next season, meaning Napoli could be forced to accept a low offer for the defender.
