It appears that Eden Hazard could be leaving England for good as reports from French sports daily Le 10 Sport suggest that Chelsea and Real Madrid have come to a ‘first agreement’ of £170 million.
The European giants have made Hazard their top priority and the Belgian himself spoke of his desire to play for the club some day. Chelsea had previously turned down the offer of £90 million and bonuses for the talisman from Los Blancos.
However, Real have an abundance of money having sold Cristiano Ronaldo to Juventus and have offered almost double the price for the winger which Chelsea have reportedly agreed upon.
Other reports claim that Real Madrid President Florentino Perez have offered Hazard a contract which would see him earning £13.5 million per season.
However, newly appointed Chelsea coach Maurizio Sarri has not dismissed the possibility of Hazard and Thibaut Courtouis (who is also wanted by Real Madrid) staying at Stamford Bridge. The Italian has said this week that he would want to hold face-to-face talks with both players regarding their commitment to the club.
“A telephone call without looking them in the eyes would not give me any certainty,” said Sarri. “I want to meet them face-to-face and talk to them and see what the best thing to do would be for everybody. Before that I would also like a player to come on the pitch with me for four or five days to get a clear idea of what the picture is.”
Chelsea are currently in a position where they could lose some of their key players with both Belgium stars under Real Madrid’s radar and Barcelona eager to sign N’Golo Kante. Winger Willian is also eager to leave Stamford Bridge.
