Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has claimed that his squad is now capable of winning the Premier League having added four new players to his squad this summer.
Mourinho has moved quickly to replace the gaps in the squad vacated by the experienced Frank Lampard and Ashley Cole who were released at the end of last season.
The new arrivals include defender Filipe Luis, midfielder Cesc Fabregas and striker Diego Costa. The combined fees for the players adds up to around £80 as Mourinho looks to turn his squad from top 4 candidates into serious Premier League contenders.
Also joining the Stamford Bridge side is young Croatian hot prospect Mario Pasilic, joining from Hajduk Split.
And Mourinho now feels that with the new signings already in place, he has a squad capable of bringing the League trophy back to West London in his second season back in charge of the Blues.
“We got exactly what we need and what we want. The squad is one which I like very much and I look forward to starting the season.”
Mourinho also added that as Chelsea moved early for their targets, it gives them an advantage over their rivals who are still yet to wrap up their signings with 5 weeks left of the transfer market.
“The club did fantastic. We knew the targets, we knew the players and the club attacked them and their clubs at a very early stage.”
“There were good teams last season and there will be better teams this season because everyone is still investing.”
