Chelsea are set to make a bid for Saul Niguez
Antonio Conte has already started planning for the winter transfer window. Chelsea are set to break their bank for Atletico Madrid’s star Saul Niguez. The Blues are ready to offer £71 million for the midfielder.
However, things are not that easy as it may seem for the Italian manager. The 22-year old midfielder just recently signed a new contract, which is said to be around 9 years and his release clause is almost £134 million.
Meanwhile, Atletico Madrid’s boss, Simone, has made it clear that he has no plans on selling the Spanish international. The La Liga giants have told the Blues that Niguez is not for sale and they also believe that no club will pay the release clause of the 22-year old.
According to reports, Antonio Conte is a huge fan of the attacking midfielder but is not prepared to pay the release clause that Atletico Madrid are asking. Conte spent around £200m this summer and landed Alvaro Morata, Tiemoue Bakayoko, Davide Zappacosta, Danny Drinkwater, Antonio Rudiger and Willy Caballero.
However, the Blues did miss out on some of their targets and it looks like that the Chelsea boss does not want a repeat of it. He has therefore started his search very early.
The Blues have had a mixed start to their Premier League campaign this season. After 9 games, Chelsea are behind the league leaders, Manchester City by 9 points. The Blues have started gaining momentum in their league campaign and they need to keep playing like if they want to stand a chance to defend their title.
