Chelsea are reported to have stolen a march on Tottenham for £50m-rated Everton star Ross Barkley
Reports claim that Chelsea are prepared to meet Everton’s asking price, with reports saying the Blues are “Clear favourites” to sign him.
Meanwhile Barkley future is still uncertain, with his desired move to a big Premier League club yet to happen.
Tottenham have been heavily linked with Barkley as well, but they want him to set a more realistic wage demand as they look to finance a move.
Spurs are unwilling to break their wage structure, with Hugo Lloris and Harry Kane their only stars commanding close to £100,000 a week. Barkley has been offered more than that to stay at Goodison Park.
Reports also claim Conte is more than willing to meet Barkley’s wage demands and have let him know.
It’s now up to Ross to decide what he wants to do.
