Chelsea have been cleared to sign Inter Milan striker Mauro Icardi after the player admitted that he would happily leave if the club decided to sell.

The Argentine international is one of many linked with moves away from the San Siro this Summer as Roberto Mancini eyes a squad overhaul in order to free up some finances for the club, and Icardi has told them that he will happily leave if they want to sell him.

The 22-year-old has been linked with the Premier League in the past, and according to reports, Chelsea made approaches to Inter during the January transfer window, but were told no deal would take place halfway through the season.

However, The Blues may re-enter the race to sign Icardi at the end of the season after he confirmed that he would move if the club wanted to sell.

‘If Inter decides to sell me, I’ll pack my bags and go,’ he told CNN.

Despite saying he’d happily leave, Icardi’s agent is currently in talks with Inter regarding a new deal, and the striker had his say on the current saga surrounding his future.

‘Regarding my pay, my salary, that I don’t ‘earn a lot,’ these are things that are a result of two years ago when I came to Inter,’ he said.

‘To me, it was a good contract for having arrived at Inter.

‘Now, after two years, I still have this contract that people are talking about, but my agents are speaking to the club, they’re coming to an agreement, they’re seeing how to fix this situation.’
