Chelsea are closing in on a sensational triple-deal worth around £50million as they aim to sign Atletico Madrid trio; Diego Costa, Filipe Luis and Tiago.
The Blues are expected to be busy this Summer in the transfer market, with several players expected to depart, and several expected to arrive, and Spanish striker Costa is the big-money move they are expected to make.
Jose Mourinho is desperate to sign a new striker who has a killer instinct, and it’s believed that he is prepared to spend £32m on Costa, who has been firing them in for fun in Spain this season, and helped guide Atletico to the Champions League final, as well as the La Liga trophy.
Now Mourinho has turned his attentions to defensive matters, and it’s two more players from Diego Simeone’s team that excite him, and they are Luis, their left-back and also former-Chelsea holding-midfielder, Tiago.
With Ashley Cole departing the club, Chelsea are now on the look out for a new left-back, and after admitting defeat in the race for Southampton’s Luke Shaw, it now looks like Mourinho will meet Luis’ release-clause of £19m and make him his second big Summer signing.
As for Tiago, he will be able to return to Stamford Bridge for free as his contract is set to expire next month and no contract talks are expected to take place between the midfielder and his current club.
