Arsenal open talks with Real Madrid starlet

According to reports in Spain, Arsenal have reopened formal talks with Real Madrid regarding the possible transfer of striker Alvaro Morata.

The Gunners were linked with signing the 21-year-old back in January on a loan-deal until May, with an option to buy him permanently in the Summer.

However, Madrid rejected all loan offers and were only willing to sell permanently in January, which Arsene Wenger didn’t want to do as he wanted to evaluate his options at the end of the season, rather than splash the cash halfway through.

The two clubs are expected to hold more talks in the future, but early stages initiate that Madrid are keen to put in a buy-back option in his contract, which would mean they could buy back the Spaniard within the first two years of his contract, if they wanted too.

This is similar to what Arsenal have done for Carlos Vela, who is currently at Real Sociedad.

The North-London outfit will face competition from their local-rivals Tottenham Hotspur and also Serie A champions Juventus, who want to sign the starlet on loan for the season.
