Chelsea are demanding at LEAST £70m from Real Madrid for Eden Hazard, according to reports.
Real Madrid have been interested in signing Hazard for some time now, and many fans believe it is only a matter of time before he moves on to one of the Spanish giants, with many pundits and experts feeling he will fit perfectly into the mold of player they look for, especially the mold of a Galactico.
Chelsea will not likely want to let go of their star man, but it is being reported they have demanded at least a £70m bid before they will even CONSIDER selling the Belgian.
Reports are also suggesting that Real Madrid do not want to pay such a high fee, as they feel talented 21-year-old Marcos Ascensio is capable of filling the same role as Hazard in the future, without the expenditure.
Essentially what this means is, Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane is reportedly desperate to land the Belgium international but president Florentino Perez is refusing to cough up the £70m that Chelsea are demanding for their prize asset.
Chelsea will undoubtedly be hoping that setting such a high price will ward off Madrid, whilst also hoping that Eden Hazard has not has his head turned by the interest in him.
While it seems unlikely that Hazard will leave Chelsea just yet, it’s impossible to know when dealing with Real Madrid, who are known for always getting the player they want, whatever the cost.
