John Terry and Ramires fall victim of mid-week injuries

Chelsea could be without John Terry and Ramires for this weekend’s massive encounter with Tottenham Hotspur after the duo suffered injuries whilst out in Israel.

Ramires injured himself a day before the game during a training session, while Terry was forced off with around 20-minutes remaining last night during Chelsea‘s 4-0 win against Maccabi Tel-Aviv.

Terry suffered an ankle injury which resulted in him coming off, and after the game, Jose Mourinho was quick to blame the playing surface as he labelled it ‘dangerous’.

Dangerous Pitch

“My medical department is really good and John is a professional guy with a special desire to recover,” he said.

“But to leave the pitch with the result 1-0, I don’t believe too much that he can play at Tottenham on Sunday.”

“I said in an interview before the match that such a beautiful stadium and such a fantastic public deserve a better surface because it was bad and dangerous,” Mourinho added.

“We tried to protect ourselves by only training a little bit on it but to my surprise Maccabi trained on it after us, plus there was the warm-up before the game, so the pitch was really bad.”

The two could now miss the vital Premier League game against Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday.
