Premier League quartet all want Uruguayan

Chelsea are the latest team to be linked with a mega-money move for Paris Saint-Germain striker Edinson Cavani over the Summer as Jose Mourinho eyes attacking depth.

The Uruguayan is unsettled in Paris and wants to leave the club after spending yet another season out of position in Laurent Blanc‘s side.

PSG field a 4-3-3 formation which sees Cavani used on the wing rather than up front as the lone-striker, a role which is filled by Zlatan Ibrahimovic, and the Uruguayan is finally fed up with it and wants to leave the club.

Cavani, who completed a mega-money move from Serie A side Napoli a few years ago, has been a shadow of his former-self during his time in France and he’s desperate to play back up front in order to resurrect his career.

Premier League Interest

The 28-year-old is a target for four Premier League clubs, with Arsenal, Manchester United, Liverpool and now Chelsea all keen, but with financial backing, it could come down to United and Chelsea.

All four teams are in the market for a new striker with Arsenal lacking depth up front, United preparing to lose two strikers in Robin Van Persie and Radamel Falcao and Liverpool also preparing a mass-exodus with Mario Balotelli, Fabio Borini and Rickie Lambert all expected to leave.

As for Chelsea, Jose Mourinho is desperate to add more attacking options to his team in order to take the work-load off of Diego Costa.

Didier Drogba could be on his way out of The Bridge, whilst Loic Remy has suffered several injury blows throughout the campaign.

PSG are reportedly holding out for around ÂŁ55million for the striker, but with new Premier League TV rights money being made available, all four could afford to bring in the superstar.
