Some fans pelted coins at Manchester City’s youngsters during yesterday’s FA Cup clash

Chelsea are facing yet another investigation from the FA after a few fans were spotted throwing coins at the Manchester City players during yesterday’s game.

The Blues were hosting City in the FA Cup, and with the visitors playing a very youthful looking team, Chelsea eased past their Premier League rivals and progressed into the next round.

However, the day was spoiled by a selection of Chelsea fans who pelted coins at City’s youngsters when they were celebrating their equaliser.

David Faupala was the goalscorer, who made it 1-1, but his celebrations were ruined by a bunch of fans who lobbed coins at him.

Investigation

Match official Andre Mariner went over to remove the coins from the pitch and now the FA are set to investigate further, with the club potentially banning the fans if found guilty.

This saga came just a day after West Bromwich Albion‘s Christ Brunt had a coin thrown at his eye by his own supporters.
