Blues players went head-to-head with Man City players at the end of their game in the Premier League

Chelsea have been handed a £100,000 fine for failing to control their players towards the end of their game against Man City in the Premier League.

Despite most of the Blues players either trying to play the peacemakers or trying to stop the fracas, the club have ended up with the worst of the two fines. Man City have been handed a fine which is less than half of what Chelsea are having to pay (£35,000).

The incident occurred towards the end of the two side’s Premier League fixture. A late challenge from Sergio Aguero not only warranted a red card but also provoked a huge reaction from both side’s players.

Fabregas and Fernandinho altercation

Nathaniel Chalobah quickly pushed Aguero after his brutal tackle and most of the players then ended up running over.

The main focus was on Fernandinho and Cesc Fabregas. The Man City man continually grabbed the midfielder by the throat, with the Spaniard refusing to retaliate. The midfielder ultimately ended up backing up and falling into the stands.

Fernandinho was also handed a red card for his actions, leaving City without two of their key players.

Although the Blues haven’t suffered players-wise, as they won’t have any of their players suspended, they will now though have to fork out more money as part of the fines issued to both clubs.
