As more and more speculation hits the media circuit daily, it’s reported that Blues boss Antonio Conte is looking to strengthen his backline with interest in Lazio defender Stefan De Vrij and Benfica centre-back Victor Lindelof.
Now, don’t get too excited these reports come out of the Express and Daily Mail, I know right?
De Vrij from Lazio has had an unlucky run falling down the pecking order due to a knee injury sustained, and the club reportedly are looking to sell him, so for some reason Chelsea want to bring him over to Stamford Bridge.
Then there is The Sweden international and Benfica centre-back Victor Lindelof, who can also play as a right-back and a holding midfielder if needed, the swede has a reported release clause of £25million and the Blues are said to be considering meeting the release clause of the 25-year-old.
Blues Conte was interested in capturing Napoli centre-back Kalidou Koulibaly, However, their £42million bid was turned down by the Naples club and now Chelsea are looking elsewhere.
