Blues made £3.1million bid for goalkeeper

Chelsea have had an offer for Dinamo Zagreb goalkeeper Adrian Semper turned down, according to reports.

The 18-year-old is tipped to have a bright future in between the sticks, and has been shining in this year’s UEFA Youth League, with standout performances against Arsenal and Bayern Munich.

The Croatian shot-stopper has represented his country at the U-17 World Cup, and according to reports, he’s been on Chelsea‘s radar for some time now.

The Blues currently have Thibaut Courtois and Asmir Begovic at their disposal at Stamford Bridge, but due to Semper‘s age, they are keen to add him to their keeping rank.

Coach Advice

Christophe Lollichon, who is Chelsea’s goalkeeping coach, has been watching the teenager in recent months and he’s urged the club to make a formal move for him.

After getting advice from their coach, Chelsea sent Michael Emenalo over to Croatia to meet with the Zagreb board, but the Premier League side saw their opening bid rejected.

It’s believed they offered around £3.1m.
