Blues could re-appoint Italian after successful Leicester stint

Chelsea are considering re-hiring Leicester City manager Claudio Ranieri, according to reports.

The Blues are currently on the search for their next permanent manager following the dismissal of Jose Mourinho earlier on this season.

As it stands, Guus Hiddink is in charge until the end of the season, but the Dutchman has made it clear that he won’t take the job on a full-time basis.

Chelsea have been linked with the likes of Pep Guardiola and Diego Simeone, but according to reports this morning, they could look at re-hiring Ranieri.

Ranieri’s Career

The 64-year-old had a stint at Stamford Bridge earlier in his career, managing them from 2000-2004, but after being sacked by Roman Abramovich, he went abroad and took over at Valencia.

Since then he’s had roles with: Parma, Juventus, AS Roma, Inter Milan, AS Monaco and Greece before returning to England with Leicester.

The Foxes are currently joint-top of the Premier League, just months after surviving the drop, and Ranieri’s incredible impact at the King Power Stadium hasn’t gone unnoticed.
