Premier League side have made contact with Inter Milan
Chelsea have made initial contact with Serie A side Inter Milan regarding a potential deal for Mauro Icardi.
The Argentine international is expected to leave the San Siro this Summer with several clubs across Europe interested, but it looks like Jose Mourinho’s side have stolen a march by moving in for the deal quickly.
According to reports, Chelsea officials have made contact with the Inter board and are keen to hold further talks regarding a possible deal.
Roberto Mancini is desperate to keep hold of Icardi, as he wants to build a team around the Argentinian, but with more money elsewhere, the striker may be ready to leave the San Siro.
Transfer Wishlist
The 22-year-old is one of few targets Mourinho has in mind, but it’s believed his style of play will suit Chelsea more, and with Inter struggling in tenth, they may be ready to cash in on the star in order to reinvest in the squad next season.
Icardi has netted 16 goals in 29 appearances so far this season.
Chelsea aren’t expected to be too busy this Summer after this season’s success, but a striker is on Mourinho’s wishlist with Didier Drogba nearing his end and Diego Costa’s injury fears.
