Manchester City midfielder could be on his way out
According to reports, Arsenal could make a sensational Summer move for Manchester City midfielder Yaya Toure after the Ivorian admitted that he could be on his way out of the Etihad Stadium.
The Ivorian has had an interesting year to say the least. He had a massive fall-out with the club’s board last year after they forgot to wish him a Happy Birthday, which lead to him being linked with a move away with his agent pushing the move.
However, he remained at City, but has failed to show the form he has previously in their title-winning campaigns.
In a recent interview, Toure admitted that his future could be away from City as he eyes a new challenge, and despite Serie A being a strong possibility, with Inter Milan interested, Arsenal are reportedly one of the teams interested in signing the powerhouse.
Toure Speaks Out
‘No amount of wages will make me stay at a club if I feel that I no longer belong there or if no challenge exists for me,’ he said.
‘It would be unjust on my part. There comes a moment where numbers don’t stop unjust on my part. There comes a moment where numbers don’t stop us, it goes beyond that.
‘For the future, I don’t know more than you do because I always go where I am offered new challenges. That is in my nature.
‘When things are not going well at a club, the key players take the fall.’
The only issue for Arsenal is Toure’s weekly-wage. The midfielder currently earns £200k-a-week which is more than any player at the Emirates Stadium.
