Blues want to swap Diego Costa for the Uruguayan
Chelsea are eyeing a shock deal with Paris Saint-Germain which could see Edinson Cavani arrive at Stamford Bridge with Diego Costa going in the other direction.
It’s well documented that the Blues are interested in landing Cavani, who still isn’t 100% happy in Paris due to lack of game-time and also being played out of position by Laurent Blanc.
Chelsea are in the market for a new striker after losing faith in Loic Remy and Radamel Falcao, and with Alexandre Pato only being a loan deal, he is expected to leave in the summer along with the other two.
Costa/Cavani Swap
That would leave the club with just Costa as a recognised striker, but according to reports, officials at Stamford Bridge are considering using him as part of the Cavani deal.
The Uruguayan has netted 74 goals for PSG since arriving from Italian side Napoli, but due to being second-fiddle to Zlatan Ibrahimovic, he has grown frustrated with life in France.
Chelsea aren’t the only Premier League team interested in Cavani however as Arsenal are also in the race, according to reports, but with the Blues willing to launch a player-swap deal, they may have the edge.
