Chelsea’s new £6.8million signing Kenedy says it’s “a dream come true”

After two years with Brazilian side Fluminense scoring 5 goals in 42 games, it’s fair to say joining Chelsea is a massive leap and Kenedy is understandably ecstatic with the move.

The 19 year old Brazilian forward had played in a pre-season game for Chelsea against Barcelona while on trial at Chelsea and he was officially announced as a Chelsea player on the 22nd of August.

He had been unfortunate to miss Brazil’s U20 World Cup campaign due to appendicitis but had clearly already done enough to impress Jose Mourinho.

Kenedy delighted to sign for “top club”

Kenedy had this to say on the move. “It’s a dream come true. I’ve always wanted to play for a top club like this one.”

“What excited me the most about being a Chelsea player is that there are many top Brazilian players that have played or are playing here.”

“Deco, Oscar, Willian, Ramires… I used to play as these guys on my PlayStation and now I’m alongside them! That is very exciting for me.”
