Chelsea new-boy Loic Remy says Liverpool ‘lied’ about failed medical

Chelsea new-boy, Loic Remy, has lashed out at Liverpool and accused them of lying and being dishonest about why they pulled out of the deal that would have seen the Frenchman join The Reds earlier in the summer.

The move looked all set for the French international but problems emerged during his medical at the club ahead of the transfer, causing them to pull out of the deal at the last minute. The problem is believed to be related to heart defect issues, which has been an obstacle throughout the 27-year-old’s transfer history.

Despite the reported troubles that revolved around Brendan Rodgers having to pull the plug on the deal, Remy told The Sun that he ‘didn’t understand Liverpool’s decision’.

‘It was not very honest from their side,’ he said.

‘I was not scared. I know exactly what I have, I met all the specialists in the world. A lot of players share the same situation as mine and Liverpool know it.’

Remy eventually moved to Stamford Bridge in the concluding days of the transfer window, and will be keen on making Liverpool regret their hesitancy.
