Reports in Italy suggest that Dani Carvajal is a target for Chelsea and they plan on making an audacious move during the January transfer window.
It is widely believed that Jose Mourinho will be in the market for a new right-back following Branislav Ivanovic’s poor run of form.
The Serbian’s contract is due to expire at the end of the campaign with the club yet to offer an improved deal for the Serbian sparking speculation that Ivanovic’s time at Chelsea is coming to an end.
It’s understood Mourinho has sounded-out Dani Carvajal as a long-term replacement for Ivanovic.
Real Madrid signed Porto’s Danilo over the summer to provide competition on the right side of defence, which could push the 23-year-old towards the exit.
However, Carvajal is rated as the best young centre-back in the game and having signed a new deal with Real at the end of last season, keeping him in the Spanish capital until 2020, it is believed the fee would have to be astronomical.
