Chelsea star was sent to hospital before Crystal Palace game
Chelsea and Brazil midfielder Ramires has confirmed that the kidney illness that ruled him out of Chelsea’s title-winning victory on Sunday is ‘nothing serious’.
The 28-year-old was named in the starting line-up for the 1-0 victory over Crystal Palace but could not play as he was rushed to hospital just before kick-off with a kidney problem.
The former Benfica, Cruzeiro and Joinville star has admitted that he should be fully fit within the next ‘few weeks’ and congratulated the club on clinching the Premier League title.
Ramires Gives Health Update
The 5’11 box-to-box midfielder said: “I was very sick minutes before the match because of a renal complication, but I’m well and home with my family.
“Thank God it was nothing serious and I will be fully recovered in a few weeks.
“Thank you to all that sent me messages and were with me. I would like to thank the Chelsea’s medical team for the exceptional job.
“I was sad not to be part of the party on the pitch, but very pleased with the title, the only English title I had left to conquer. Congratulations Chelsea!” he added.
