Courtois believes Blues can do it
Thibaut Courtois believes Chelsea can prove themselves to be worthy title contenders in the next 2 games.
The Blues are flying at the moment after their 1-0 win away at Middlesbrough, which took them above Liverpool and Manchester City to the top of the table.
However, Antonio Conte’s team now face tough back-to-back fixtures, firstly hosting Tottenham next week, before travelling to Manchester City on December 3rd.
Chelsea star Courtois knows it will be tricky, but believes that if the team come out of those two games as victors, it could be crucial in the quest to win the Premier League this season,
He said: “It is very nice to be top again.
“We have fought hard. It was a difficult season last year for the fans and the club, the players had a lot of criticism as well.
“But we can’t relax now. We face two big opponents now and hopefully we can show that we are ready to fight for the title.”
After their games against Tottenham and City, Chelsea have a favourable run of fixtures around the festive period.
They face West Brom, Sunderland, Crystal Palace, Bournemouth and Stoke before the end of the year.
