Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho could attempt to sign John Stones or PSG defender Marquinhos if Juan Cuadrado’s move to Juventus takes place.

The Blues attempted to bring both Central defenders to Stamford Bridge in the Summer, but both Everton and PSG where reluctant to sell their star players.

Stones handed in a transfer request in August but failed to make the move from Goodison Park, even though Chelsea offered a staggering ÂŁ37 million for the England defender. Aged just 21 he is regarded as one of the most promising players in English football.

Brazilian international Marquinhos is also 21 however has struggled to dislodge Thiago Silva and David Luiz in the centre of defence this season at the Parc des Princes. He has started just four games in Laurent Blanc’s side this term.

Jose Mourinho has revealed a centre back is priority after the poor form of John Terry and Branislav Ivanovic.

The deal would only take place if Juan Cuadrado left the club

Cuadrado is currently on a season-long loan at Juventus, however the ‘Old Lady’ is keen to make the deal for the columbian Forward Permanent. Chelsea’s asking price for the 27 year old is in the region of ÂŁ18 million.
