Blues ready to sign striker despite Manchester United failure

Chelsea are ready to make a formal offer for Manchester United striker, Radamel Falcao, once his loan spell at Old Trafford expires in June.

The Colombian has been less that impressive during his season-long loan from French side AS Monaco, but that hasn’t stopped rival clubs showing interest in him.

Liverpool have been monitoring his situation and now Chelsea are ready to bring him to Stamford Bridge if United don’t decide to sign him permanently.

Premier League Struggles

As part of the loan-deal, United and Monaco agreed that Falcao could move permanently in the Summer if the Premier League side coughed up ÂŁ43million for him.

However, after an awful season at Old Trafford, scoring just four goals, it’s unsure whether Louis Van Gaal wants to keep the Colombian on board permanently.

According to reports, Liverpool are trying to begin negotiations with Monaco and want to strike a deal worth around ÂŁ25m as they feel his value has decreased throughout the season.

Chelsea Competition

The Reds will now face serious competition from Chelsea who are keen on bringing him in to Stamford Bridge at the end of the season with Jose Mourinho concerned about his current options.

Didier Drogba is nearing the end of his career, whilst Loic Remy and Diego Costa continue to struggle with fitness issues.

It’s reported Chelsea will offer Falcao a whopping contract around ÂŁ265k-a-week.
