Blues want £15million for striker
Chelsea have put Loic Remy up for sale after putting a £15million price-tag on his head.
The Frenchman has already threatened to quit the club if AS Monaco striker Radamel Falcao joins on a season-long loan, and with that deal all-but confirmed, it looks like Remy will be on his way out of Stamford Bridge.
Third-Choice Striker
Remy only arrived at the club last summer after completing an £8m move from London-rivals Queens Park Rangers, but after spending most of the season second-fiddle to Diego Costa, things look to have got worse ahead of next season.
Although The Blues have lost Didier Drogba, after he decided to leave the club, Remy is expected to drop to third-choice once Falcao arrives at The Bridge.
With the 28-year-old not happy at being third choice, he has informed the club that he wants to leave and they have responded by putting him up for sale for almost double what they paid.
Duo Interested
West Ham United and Crystal Palace are both believed to be interested in signing the French striker, but a £15m price-tag may put them off the deal.
Another potential stumbling block for both teams is Remy’s weekly-wage. The striker currently earns around £80k-a-week at Chelsea and would not be prepared to take a pay-cut to join either West Ham or Palace.
Mourinho Wants to Keep Remy
Remy netted seven goals in just six Premier League games last season, and although he’s been placed on the transfer list, Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho is keen to keep the forward so that he doesn’t have to go out and sign another striker.
