Agent holds talks with Serie A side Bologna

Liverpool striker Fabio Borini is finally set to end his Merseyside nightmare by securing a permanent switch to Serie A side Bologna, after the club held talks with the Italian’s agent.

The Reds are set for a mass overhaul this summer after a failed 2014/2015 campaign, and the strikers at the club are expected to be sold after failing to impress Brendan Rodgers.

Strikers Leaving Anfield

Borini is likely to be joined by Mario Balotelli and Rickie Lambert out of the Anfield door, but it looks like the 24-year-old has already secured a move away.

Reports have emerged that Borini’s agent has already held transfer talks with Bologna about a transfer this summer and it’s looking likely that it will be finalised over the transfer period.

According to Sky Italia, Borini’s agent Marco De Marchi has held initial talks with the club over a switch, but will now try and negotiate a move with the Premier League side.

Earlier this month, De Marchi dropped a big hint that his client’s future is away from Liverpool.

Agent Reveals Plans

He said: ‘What matters for him is to find a team of the top level, with a serious technical project and the opportunity to perhaps play in the European cups.

“Soon we will have to talk to Liverpool. Several teams have asked for Fabio on loan but [Liverpool] have always refused, especially in light of the offer of £13.2m last year from Sunderland.

“I think taking Fabio today, at the age of 24, at the height of his career, with only one year on his contract, is a real steal.”

Borini’s Career

Borini started his career at Bologna and would welcome a return back to the club that gave him his first opportunity.

After leaving the Italian side, Borini has spent time at; Chelsea, Swansea City, Parma, AS Roma, Liverpool and Sunderland.
