Chelsea have scrapped the idea of re-signing midfielder Tiago from Atletico Madrid.
The Blues have already landed Diego Costa and Filipe Luis from the Spanish champions, and were reportedly ready to bring back the midfielder on a free transfer due to his contract expiring in Spain.
However, according to reports in Spain, Jose Mourinho is no longer interested in signing the 33-year-old.
Mourinho feels he has enough options in midfield already and didn’t want to re-sign the man who left Stamford Bridge nearly a decade ago.
Tiago is now a free agent after rejecting a one-year deal from Madrid, and he was hopeful that a two-year deal from the Premier League club would be on the table, but those hopes have now been dashed.
