Many speculate that this victory for Chelsea over rivals Liverpool in the Champions League is what persuaded Roman Abramovic to purchase the West London club as opposed to taking up an interest in London rivals Tottenham Hotspur. Chelsea did take the win, and Abramovic did indeed take over the club, and the rest as they say, is history.
