Aston Villa striker Christian Benteke will wait until after this Summer’s World Cup to decide his future, according to Eric Kismet, his agent.

The Belgium international signed a contract extension at Villa Park last Summer until 2017, but this came just weeks after he made an official transfer request to leave the club after his agent advised him too.

The 23-year-old hasn’t been able to live up to his first-season form, but he is still showing glimpses of clinical finishing and as he prepares for the Brazil World Cup, his agent has admitted that a potential move will be dealt with after the tournament.

“He wants to get ready for the World Cup. For the future, there is time. Currently it is too early to talk about it.”

Premier League duo Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal have both previously been linked with Benteke, as well as Italian side AC Milan.
